At Health + Glow, we currently offer the following vaccine options:
The TDAP vaccine can prevent tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis. Diphtheria and pertussis spread from person to person while tetanus enters the body through cuts or scrapes. Adults need to get a TD (tetanus and diphtheria) booster shot every 10 years to maintain full immunity.
The shingles vaccine is a nonliving vaccine made of a virus component. The vaccine is given in two doses with 2-6 months between doses. The CDC recommends that adults age 50 or older should get vaccinated against shingles whether they’ve had shingles or not. Although the shingles vaccine may not prevent you from getting shingles, it may reduce the severity and duration of the virus.
Influenza (flu) vaccines (“flu shots”) are vaccines that protect against the four influenza viruses that research indicates may be most common during the upcoming season. Most flu vaccines are administered with a needle but there is also a nasal spray flu vaccine. The flu shot is normally effective for 3-6 months. Because the flu is so contagious, health organizations like the CDC recommend that you get a flu shot annually at the start of flu season.
Dr. Kallikadan is double board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Anti-Aging/Regenerative Medicine, specializing in internal and aesthetic medicine. In addition to being a BioTE certified provider, she is an expert M.D. in diVa, a laser that helps with women’s health, such as incontinence and vaginal rejuvenation. She is known for providing compassionate care by connecting with patients on a personal level and creating comprehensive plans to help them reach their goals, inspiring some patients to even travel from afar. Dr. Kallikadan gained her 20+ years of world experience in health care while attending medical school at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Germany and doing rotations in India and England. She completed her residency at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. She is affiliated with BayCare Health System, HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital and Tampa General Hospital.
